Could you describe your career path to us in a few words? When did it start and how did you get involved with this job?

I have been working in the field of interior design my whole career. Back in 1998, I started making interior renderings to explain my designs to customers. Very soon I discovered that the added value of rendering could be a lot bigger than just an interior selling tool. Artist impressions can bring a project to life, and add the right atmosphere and feel to it. I work for designers, (interior) architects and project developers and their clients need these visualisations.

Is 3dart only a job for you or something more? Please tell us your feelings about 3dart.

Well, working from the perspective described above, it is not hard to imagine that, even after 15 years full of design, architecture and photography, I still love my job every day. And more than that: 3D visualisation is on my mind, from early morning until late at night. I get my inspiration from architectural books, Pinterest and DailyArchitecture. I learn from camera angles and details other designers have used. So it is fair to say that to me, 3dart is much more than just a job.

Have you ever won an award for your work or even any distinctions at the forums you participated in?

Just recently well-known artistic forums put some projects in my portfolio in the spotlight. For example, my work was chosen as portfolio of the week on Behance and image of the week on CG Record. But apart from that I have never won any real prizes. But although it would be nice to receive the acknowledgement, I can honestly say that it has never been a primary goal to become a prize-winning graphic artist.

Which are your plans, or better your goals for the future?

I am looking for constant quality improvement of my exterior and interior renderings, materialization and postproduction. Probably just like any other serious artist. I am planning to do some training again. A master class to improve my exterior skills, for example.

Please give some advice to our members who would like to join Vray world Club. How can they be inspired to create their personal projects?

I often notice that in our field of business there’s a lot of focus on render techniques. Even though it is good to keep up with software and technology, we should keep in mind that there’s so much more to gain from composition, details and design.
