A "green garden house" is being built in Würzburg - that was the name of the winning design by the Hofmann-Keicher-Ring architectural firm, and there's no better way to sum up the project. Green facades, sustainable building materials and lush foliage all around and the grounds of the former State Garden Show. Together with the Technical University of Munich, an environmentally friendly building concept was developed and everything was coordinated with the needs of nature, right down to the flowering sequence of the open space planting. The result is impressive: energy-efficient living in a thoroughly "green" building concept and yet the future residents do not have to forego comfort in terms of amenities.
