Nikki has never thought of 3D-Art as a job. He had the opportunity to work with the brilliant team of Chaos Group for almost 2 years. Now he focuses more on the design part of his work and his message to all of us is: “Don’t imitate but innovate; observe the real world every day”.
Architecture, Interior Design, Photography, Digital Art.
Could you describe your career path to us in a few words? When did it start and how did you get involved with this job?
Nice ! I wouldn"t call it career , as I’ve always considered myself a designer above all else, but here it is. As far as I can remember, I was in my 3rd year in University when I first saw 3dsmax 3.0. And it was just a hobby till then... nothing more.
But actually I got deeper into it, when I started my first job as an Interior Designer. Then I realisedI’m quite good at it so it steadily progressed.
Is 3dart only a job for you or something more? Please tell us your feelings about 3dart.
I have never thought of 3D-Art as a job, honestly! I have always said that it is a tool in the hands of the artist himself. No matter what you use as softs, they are all just simple tools , making the ways of expressing your visions easier. Nowadays, these softs have evolved a lot and it is even more fun now to create real art with them. I love it!
Have you ever won an award for your work or even any distinctions at the forums you participated in?
Awards? No :) I"ve never been after one. But, i do remember I got the < BEST of EVERMOTION > with my first post there... it was a kitchen project. :) Guess what - here"s what my best AWARD is : It was the best Prize for me - to be able to work with the brilliant team of ChaosGroup for almost two years.
Actually I was sitting next to Vlado, desk to desk, and lots of what"s inside V-Ray were ideas which we thought together (The Team).
As for the forums... well I was the Mother & Father of the V-Ray Official Forum , back in the years. What more ;) is this good enough ?
Which are your plans, or better your goals for the future?
Well, I’m focusing more and more on the Design part in my work. I have some really great ideas going on in my head, but time will tell :)
For now , I would prefer to keep them where they are ;) up there :)
Please give some advice to our members who would like to join Vray world Club. How can they be inspired to create their personal projects?
As for advice : Don"t imitate but Innovate ! Observe the real world everyday ! Buy a decent camera, start shooting the Real World. All the secrets lie there. After all - the render engines are nothing more than a very hard job, pushed into that direction - recreating the Real World.
Watch more, Read a lot, Talk less & Push as much as You can ! Always be the strictest judge of your work because that is what is going to push you up!
