VW Studio Lighting Hdr


Free V-Ray studio lighting to preview your dirty materials and not only. Enjoy it!

Technical info.

  • Software used: 3ds Max 2011 | V-Ray 2.40
  • Linear Workflow Gamma 2.2
  • Resolution set 1000 X 1000 pixels.
  • Three platform's colours. White | Grey | Black.
  • Three render presets. Low | Medium | Ultra.
  • One V-Ray light type Dome with HDR map from NoEmotion included.
  • Download Hdr map. Link1 | Link2 | Link3
  • One locked V-Ray physical camera.


How to use it.

  • To select VW Studio's colour just change the platform's polygon ID.
    Set ID: 1 White | Set ID: 2 Grey | Set ID: 3 Black
  • Materials & lights have 12 subdivis in Low presets.
    Materials & lights have 12 X 2 =24 subdivis in Medium presets.
    Materials & lights have 12 X 2,5 =30 subdivis in Ultra presets.
  • To unlock the camera select both Camera & Target and then go to Command panel -> Hierarchy -> Link Info-> turn off x,y,z everywhere.
  • For three times faster result turn on "Store with irradiance map" option in all lights.
    You will observe not a big difference.

  • Its design is fresh & sportive for comfortable feeling by using it on a daily basis.
  • Close enough to a real lighting studio concerning EV and Lights' units.
  • Easy check of dirt as it contains antithetic grouts from the lower to the upper part.
  • Enough good and fast result using both low and medium presets.
  • Uniform sampling.
  • Similar result using the three different shades of its platform. White | Grey | Black.
  • A slight Curves correction is applied for a better contrast.
  • Rotate VW Shader Ball 180 degrees. Surprise! It's double face with different logo :)
